ANOTHER EDIT: Removed comments. Mainly because I'm still getting a few people bothering me about it. I dont mind people commenting on my actual Artists Comments, but some people are just posting up why I'm wrong without even reading the description. (Which is kinda funny, they want me to read the facts without wanting to read what I have to say before hand) This is annoying, and I know the Orphan thing is dead. However I still think I had a good point. So disabling comments.
SECOND EDIT: [link] - Okay I'm starting to believe all this now. It seems that the Orphan act is no longer a problem, and it was just a huge hype going on. I know for a fact I should have done my research myself. In reality the Orphans act is dead. But even so, I was happy I could have expressed my opinion about, and people would come running to help. If anything like this starts to happen in any country, I know DA will stand up and do something. Thats all peeps! ^^
Here is a link to the opposite point of view. This bill has brought up great controversy amung all people, and personally, I dont know who's right. But I did hear more cons then pros about this, so personally I'm keeping my opinion that whatever this law really is, it isnt good. Because it seems like if anyone is trying to make any kind of 'law' but make it better copyrights for all people, honestly, it just sounds like the same law thats already in place. But its up to you to make your own opinion. ^^ I'm sticking to mine unless I'm convinced.
This is a serious matter that involves all artists! Art Theft is about to become legal.
AND of course, what could do without the official government page! [link]
An interview about this crisis. Its long but informative. Interview with the spider man creator. [link]
Thats right. The Government is trying to make people pay them to copyright they're art, so it may not be used. That means, every single piece of artwork you EVER do, you must pay to the government. If you dont, its fully legal to take your artwork, and paste it all over some advertizement. Not ONLY that, but any photograph you put up anywhere, is subject to this. Thats right. They can take photo's of your family, and throw it in a magazine. And you wouldnt be able to do anything.
This law has been trying to be passed for 2 years now, with big buisness drugging the government with large sums of money. The buisness's want our money, and we MUST speak up! We MUST be heard! We cant let them do this to us! To all the photographers, painters, digital artists, everybody...! We are a community of creative people, who do art out of pure love for it. We are NOT lower class citizens, and we MUST let it be known!
How, do you ask? This is what I'm thinking. We draw, or photograph ourselves, holding our prized artist tool. Whatever it may be. Take works we've done throughout the years, and paste it all in the background, showing the creations we put our mind and soul into. Using colors that are our national flag I think would make it stick out to the government who, from where, are protesting. Because if this goes through in america... any other country can fall victum to it. And somewhere in the artwork, write 'Artists Against Orphan!"
If you want to follow this uprising, I'd ask you to please link to the artical, and please link back to this image. We cant keep this going on!
