The Sintec Mercenaries

Okay, this picture took at LEAST three days to color, excluding the day to draw and ink this and the week trying to get the concept. Why did it take so long you ask? Well I'll tell you in a few.

First, do you know why Joey goes all insane when he's by himself? BECAUSE IF HE WAS STANDING NEXT TO SOMEONE LAUGHING CRAZILY, NO ONE WOULD TAKE HIM SERIOUSLY BECAUSE HE'S SO SHORT! *insert joke laugh here* But yeah, I actually didnt realize how short he was until... well, this. I had his actual height relative to Mathew and Val-pal planned out already, but drawing them side to side like this.... poor Joey, he just never grew. :d

Now to the description of making this!

Well I wanted to make a poster to sell for the 'December convention' which is really just my college arts and crafts festival. Either way its a huge event for me. And I was wringing my brain over what kind of poster would be the best to do, with all three main characters. I ended up getting a headache too. I finally decided to do a page of all three standing generally face forward, each having their personality quirks obvious in their poses and expressions.

I also experimented with an AMAZING new coloring style, inspired by my online buddy she does a VERY good job coloring hair.

While doing the hair I actually did something interesting I've never tried before. I put down the dark shaded color instead of the actual hair color I wanted and worked from that. You guys should try that out, its an interesting learning experience, and turned out very well for me.

Course I also looked up brushes and interesting landscapes, ending up with this one. Very nice indeed. Overall I'm exausted from all the work I put on this one, readily avoiding all my school work in the process. Its now two in the morning and I must sleep. But damn am I proud of this! >D
